Corridor Business Journal Honors Three Engineering Alumni Among 40 Under 40

Three College of Engineering alumni have been honored among the "40 Under 40" program, sponsored by the Corridor Business Journal.

They are:

  • Ali Ahmad (BSE 2002 biomedical engineering), 38, chief operating officer, MetaCommunications
  • Gerald Beranek (BSE 2010 mechanical engineering), 32, founder and CEO, BeraTek Industries
  • Heather Cross Day (BSE 2003 civil engineering, MS 2010 civil and environmental engineering), 36, project manager, Stanley Consultants

The annual Forty Under 40 awards recognize 40 leaders under the age of 40 who have made a significant impact in their business, community or both early in their careers. This is the 13th year the non-partisan, non-political awards have been presented in Iowa’s Creative Corridor. Honorees were selected by a committee composed of last year’s Forty Under 40.

The Corridor Business Journal provides readers with comprehensive coverage of local business news in the growing Iowa City and Cedar Rapids corridor.
