Ananda Guneratne, a graduate student in electrical and computer engineering, has earned a 2015 NSF Graduate Research Fellowship. He is studying under Fatima Toor, assistant professor
He also is a UI Presidential Graduate Research Fellow, which is given to top incoming graduate students. In that role, Guneratne is working with Michael Abramoff, professor of ophthalmology and visual sciences and electrical and computer engineering.
The NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program recognizes and supports outstanding graduate students in NSF-supported science, technology, engineering, and mathematics disciplines who are pursuing research-based Master's and doctoral degrees at accredited United States institutions.
